Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3 July 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how CogniVertex Inc. ("CogniVertex", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit cognivertex.pro and related marketing pages. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. By continuing to use our website after making a cookie choice in our consent banner, you acknowledge the practices described here.
CogniVertex is an applied cognitive AI platform based in Kitchener, Ontario. We use cookies sparingly and do not employ advertising profiling or cross-site behavioural tracking on our public website.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, tablet or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember preferences and provide aggregated usage information to site operators. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, software development kits (SDKs) in mobile contexts and pixel tags. In this policy, we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" unless a distinction is necessary.
3. How we use cookies
We use cookies and local storage to: remember your cookie consent preferences; maintain basic session state during your visit; measure anonymised website traffic and navigation patterns; improve page performance and content relevance; and support security monitoring through our hosting infrastructure. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information or to build advertising profiles for third-party ad networks.
4. Cookie categories
We group cookies into the following categories. You can accept or reject non-essential categories through our cookie banner or preference modal.
Strictly necessary (essential) cookies
These cookies are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as setting privacy preferences, submitting a contact form or loading secure pages. Without these cookies, services you request cannot be provided.
- cvx_cookie_consent — Stores your cookie consent choice (accept, reject or customised preferences). Duration: 6 months. Vendor: CogniVertex (first-party, local storage).
- Session identifiers — Maintain form state and security tokens during your browsing session. Duration: session (deleted when browser closes). Vendor: CogniVertex hosting.
Analytics cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously or in aggregated form. We use this data to improve programme descriptions, navigation and content structure. Analytics cookies are optional and only loaded if you accept them or enable them in the customise panel.
- _cvx_analytics — Records page views, referral source and approximate navigation paths. Duration: 13 months. Vendor: CogniVertex (first-party).
- Performance beacons — Measure page load times and error rates. Duration: 30 days. Vendor: hosting infrastructure provider.
Functional cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering sidebar navigation state or form field values during a session. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we use. If you disable functional cookies, some features may not operate as intended.
- cvx_nav_state — Remembers whether you dismissed informational notices during your session. Duration: session to 6 months. Vendor: CogniVertex (first-party).
Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites for advertising purposes. CogniVertex does not currently deploy third-party advertising or retargeting cookies on cognivertex.pro. The marketing toggle in our consent modal is provided for transparency and future compatibility. If we introduce marketing cookies in the future, we will update this policy and request renewed consent before activation.
5. Third-party vendors
Some cookies and similar technologies are set by third-party services that appear on our pages. We review vendor privacy practices and limit data sharing to what is necessary for service delivery.
- Google Fonts — Delivers Inter and Source Sans 3 typefaces. Google may log IP addresses and user-agent strings when fonts are requested. Duration: varies by Google policy. Opt-out: block third-party font requests in browser settings or use a local font-blocking extension.
- Hosting and CDN provider — Sets security and performance cookies for DDoS protection, TLS termination and cache optimisation. Duration: session to 24 hours.
- Email and form processing — Our contact form submission handler does not set persistent tracking cookies on the client. Server-side logs may record IP addresses for spam prevention as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Your choices and opt-out
When you first visit cognivertex.pro, a cookie consent banner offers three options:
- Accept — Enables essential, analytics, functional and marketing cookies (marketing is currently inactive).
- Reject — Enables only strictly necessary cookies. Analytics and optional functional cookies are not loaded.
- Customise — Opens a preference modal where you can toggle analytics and marketing categories individually. Essential cookies remain enabled.
Your choice is stored in local storage under the key cvx_cookie_consent for up to six months. To change your preference, clear site data for cognivertex.pro in your browser settings and revisit the site, or use the customise option if the banner reappears.
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through settings. Consult your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that blocking all cookies may prevent the consent banner from remembering your choice and may affect form functionality. We honour "Do Not Track" signals where technically feasible by defaulting to reject-all behaviour for analytics cookies.
Platform customers using authenticated CogniVertex workspaces are subject to separate cookie and tracking policies defined in their service agreement, which may include additional session management for platform modules.
7. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, regulation or our practices. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
